I agree entirely with John Hicks. His session was well delivered and had the potential to be thought-provoking and stimulating about a subject that could provide new ways of delivering services for some authorities. It would have been far better if the fisrt session had been reduced to 15 minutes or better still, not happened at all. I must admit I didn't get the point of the chanting - complete waste of time!

What your comment on my session doesn't mention is that it was reduced to 15 minutes. Julie Finch, before me, had the same restraint. We were both told of this when we went into the hall to sit on the platform. My Powerpoint presentation is going to be circulated but it only contains the prompts, not what I would have said if I'd been allowed the original time. I'd be the first to agree that there were bits missed out - large and important bits. This simply isn't a topic that you can adequately cover in the revised time and I was disappointed that there was no attempt to extend or re-arrange it. But hey, I;m sure the delegates enjoyed those tribal chants. (The third trust is Glasgow, not Edinburgh - perhaps the slides were moving too fast!)
