Library Platform News - Launched
At Talis we have been talking about the Talis Platform for sometime now.
We launched Talis Cenote, an on-line demonstration of what is possible when building light-weight applications atop of powerful Platform Services. We published API documentation in the Talis Developer Network. I demonstrated how easy it is to use the Platform APIs at Code4lib 2007. Rob Styles underlined this by showing how to build a Union Catalogue in 20 minutes. We released the Cenote source code so that you could see for yourself how easy it was to build.
Now the Talis Library Platform is establishing itself as the Platform to underpin library applications, and a community of users and developers is forming around its use. Over the coming months there will many announcements and events for which the odd blog post will not do justice.
To bring these together to share with you, along with other items of interest, we have launched a monthly newsletter - The Talis Library Platform News. The first issue has just been published. Register to be notified of each month’s issue here, then go on to read the first issue.
