Build a Union Catalogue in Twenty Minutes!
A few days ago, in preparation for some behind the scenes videos that I hope to share with you soon, I challenged Rob Styles to step up to the plate and show that a claim he was making was not just beer induced froth.
His claim was “I can build a Union Catalogue in Twenty Minutes“.
Well prove it he has! He has also captured it in a screencast for you to see how it was done.
To see for your yourself, point your browser here.
The screencast is a bit longer than the advertised 20 minutes, as Rob introduces the services he is going to use before starts the clock.
Like all developers he also can’t resist the temptation to add in a little extra at the end to make it even better. But as that little extra is facet browsing, I think we can forgive him that.
I recommend a view, I knew what he was doing but nevertheless I was blown away by what he did.
Update: This video is now available in a selection of download formats in the TDN.
