Alex

sorry about that; David's moved his blogs and websites around, and those links have broken in the process.

I'll ask David where they've ended up (as I can't see them anywhere obvious on the new site), and fix the links...

I've tried to access the PDFs mentioned in the podcast (namely Hurdles in the Business Case for the Semantic Web and On the cusp: a global review of the Semantic Web industry), but the both links are broken. Can you please fix them?

thanks in advance

Good points re the analysts... wonder if they'd like to come on the air and talk...? ;-)

First things first - I am NOT the convicted felon! :)

I think the analyst firms are riding the hyped wave at about the same speed as your average business. I spoke about the semantic web at Garnter's Web Innovation Summit this past September in L.A. What I found were a bunch of folks still trying to grasp "Web 2.0" while I was up there talking about "3.0" and "4.0!" But I was there! Nick Gall of Gartner is interested in the semantic space, and did an excellent presentation on it. I expect we'll see more from Gartner sooner than later. Then there's Leslie Owens - who was a great practitioner in the taxonomy world, and is now covering the space for Forrester. It's not a large leap from there to more complex semantics.

I think the best point in this report and podcast was to get businesses thinking about it. We tend to talk a lot to ourselves, and have forgotten how to talk, as David so well put it, "comprehensibly" to the majority of those in the business world. Thanks to you both for continuing to support the good fight!
