Hi Danny et al. at Talis -

Yes, certainly there are some gaps but it is simply intended as an entry point for those who are scared by the idea of the Semantic Web and want a quick and dirty entry point to what it is...

I am also glad that the Semantic Web is shaping up to be part of the DataPortability effort (and you'll be happy to hear that the next telecon will be at a more reasonable hour!).

I used this "Semantic Web for Dummies" phrase once again in a video I recorded this morning for the DataPortability effort, see:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh-4bRDmTd0

Also, I've just uploaded Trent's audio recording of the steering group meeting:

http://socialmedia.net/2008/02/20/inaugural-dataportability-steering-group-teleconference/

Thanks for the post, and I hope for some more interesting comments on Semantic Web 101.

John.

My "shortcut" to the question "Where is the Web" is, usually: "The Web is in the URI-s". Indeed, this question is one of the frequently asked ones, when one talks about the SW... And then, of course, one can engage in all the details that you describe!:-)

Cheers

I.
