Web 2.0 Summit - Welcome from O'Reilly and Battelle

Posted by Paul Miller at October 17, 2007 11:31 PM

Hundreds of us are crammed into the main room at the Web 2.0 Summit, for the opening address from Tim O'Reilly and John Battelle.

It's hot, there's very little space (I can see how people become claustrophobic!), and no sign of any power. Ah, it must be a tech sector conference... Still, as Ian reminds me, at least there's wi-fi.

Tim and John are introducing the conference, and talking about the event's theme this year; looking at the 'edge' cases online from endless twitterers to Facebook application builders and the unlocking of data potential through developments such as Google Health.

Tim also returns to a recent theme of his; the web of data streamed constantly from devices.
