Web 2.0 Summit - Google's Marissa Mayer
Posted by Paul Miller at October 18, 2007 12:14 AM
Marissa Mayer delivers the first of this year's High Order Bits, talking about Google Health.
Marissa outlines some of the things that have been speculated about for Google Health; 'Google Paternity Search“, ”I'm feeling yucky“, etc.
Google is not a doctor... but lots of people successfully search Google for health information. 66% of information needs are resolved in search first.
Information on your health is being generated at an incredible rate; 2bn X-Rays per year.
What could Google do?
- Enhance existing search, a la Google Co-Op.
- Help to find the right doctor, on top of Google Local/ Maps
- Personal health records (digitising paper records)
And there's more to come...
